ClearSale: Comprehensive Fraud Protection & False Positive Reduction

ClearSale is a global pioneer in e-commerce fraud prevention, renowned for its unique approach that blends advanced artificial intelligence with the world's largest in-house team of specialized fraud analysts. Trusted by top global retailers, ClearSale is specifically designed to maximize approval rates and virtually eliminate false positives, ensuring that legitimate customers never face unnecessary friction.

Capabilities:

  • Hybrid AI & Human Review: ClearSale uses powerful machine learning to automatically approve good orders, while routing borderline or highly complex transactions to specialized human analysts for secondary review instead of outright declining them.
  • Chargeback Guarantee: For merchants wanting complete peace of mind, ClearSale offers a comprehensive chargeback insurance model, reimbursing you for any fraud-related chargebacks that slip through the system.
  • Behavioral Biometrics: Analyzes how users interact with your website or app (keystrokes, mouse movements) to differentiate between legitimate buyers and bots or fraudsters.
  • False Positive Reduction: Laser-focused on protecting your revenue by ensuring good customers aren't turned away by overly aggressive automated rules.

How It Works With Our Orchestration Engine: When you connect ClearSale to our platform, we ingest their specific status codes (e.g., APA for Auto-Approve, Analysis for manual review, and RPA/RPM for Rejects). We automatically map these responses into our standardized risk tiers: Low Risk (direct routing to your preferred gateway for frictionless checkout), Medium Risk (as triggering a 3DS step-up challenge while ClearSale completes its analysis), and **High Risk **(blocking the transaction or routing to a high-risk gateway).

Risk Tiers

The table below outline how the raw responses and risk scores from each supported provider are mapped to these standardized levels, along with the default routing actions triggered by each tier. Keep in mind that while these represent our standard configurations, you have full control to customize what triggers each risk level to perfectly align with your business's unique risk appetite.

ClearSale uses specific status codes (like APA for automatic approval, or RPM for rejected).

Provider's Raw Response (Example)Our Standardized Risk LevelDefault Routing Strategy
Status: APA / APM (Auto-Approve)🟢 LOW RISKProcess directly via preferred gateway (e.g., Adyen)
Status: AMA (Manual Review)🟡 MEDIUM RISKStep-up authentication: Approve the transactions and wait for a manual review and/or Trigger 3D Secure (3DS)
Status: RPM / RPA (Rejected)🔴 HIGH RISKDeny transaction OR Route to specialized high-risk gateway
