Signifyd: Automated Commerce Protection Platform

Signifyd is a leading commerce protection platform that utilizes big data and machine learning to provide an end-to-end financial guarantee against fraud. Trusted by major brands across retail, electronics, and digital goods, Signifyd focuses on fully automating fraud decisions to scale with high-growth businesses and eliminate the bottleneck of manual review.

Capabilities:

  • Complete Financial Guarantee: Offers a 100% financial guarantee against both fraudulent chargebacks and Item Not Received (INR) claims for approved orders.
  • Zero Manual Review: Designed to fully automate decision-making, allowing merchants to reallocate their internal fraud teams to other revenue-generating tasks.
  • Signifyd Commerce Network: Leverages cross-merchant intelligence from thousands of retailers to identify anomalous behavior and recognize returning good customers instantly.
  • Seamless Scalability: Easily handles massive traffic spikes (like Black Friday/Cyber Monday) without performance degradation or decision delays.

How It Works With Our Orchestration Engine: Signifyd’s API returns a distinct Guarantee decision (Approved or Declined) along with a detailed risk score. Our platform absorbs this data and maps it to our three core tiers. A Guarantee Approved automatically categorizes as Low Risk (routed directly for capture), while borderline scores can be mapped to Medium Risk (to run a 3DS check before finalizing the Signifyd guarantee), and Guarantee Declined maps to High Risk (instantly blocked), giving you complete control over the automated flow.

Risk Tiers

The table below outline how the raw responses and risk scores from each supported provider are mapped to these standardized levels, along with the default routing actions triggered by each tier. Keep in mind that while these represent our standard configurations, you have full control to customize what triggers each risk level to perfectly align with your business's unique risk appetite.

Signifyd typically responds with a Guarantee decision and a risk score. We map these directly to your routing engine.

Provider's Raw Response (Example)Our Standardized Risk LevelDefault Routing Strategy
Guarantee Approved / Score: 0-499🟢 LOW RISKProcess directly via preferred gateway (e.g., Adyen)
Manual Review / Score: 500-799🟡 MEDIUM RISKStep-up authentication: Trigger 3D Secure (3DS)
Guarantee Declined / Score: 800+🔴 HIGH RISKDeny transaction OR Route to specialized high-risk gateway
